Race Kart Engineering was established in 1978 as a subsidiary of our successful Yamaha motorcycle dealership. The principal responsible for developing our company was John Motley whose racing experience ranges from hydroplane boat racing, drag racing, off road racing of both buggies and motorcycles and of course kart racing. In 1989 the motorcycle business was sold and John continued to pursue his interest in high performance racing engines by operating RKE as primarily a Racing Kart resource. We have an established reputation for quality engine preparation. We prepare all types of 2-cycle kart engines specializing in Comer K80, Yamaha KT100, HPV100, ICA, YZ80 and YZ125, CR125 and most ICC engines. We have won National Championships with these engines in JR1 (Comer K80) through senior 100cc classes and shifters. We also offer machine shop service such as crank rebuilding and cylinder honing for those who prefer to prepare their own engines.
We established our import relationship with Drew Price Engineering in 1998. Established in 1971, DPE produces a full line of Arrow chassis and accessories in their ultra modern factory in Melbourne, Australia. They are the largest karting business outside Europe and approximately fifth in size world wide. For more information click on the Arrow logo above or view the factory website www.arrowkarts.com
Our involvement with Italsistem engines began with the use of MLXX reed valve engines and we quickly realized that the innovation and quality behind these engines was the finest available. When they decided to begin development on their TAG (Touch and Go) engine we, along with others, were selected to represent them in the USA.
